Animals, How to teach your dog to sit.

Today I'm going to post on how to teach your dog to sit,
Some people already have, but if you haven't  taught your dog to sit, this is how.

How to teach “Sit”

  • Take a treat and show it to your pet.
  •
  • When your dog shows interest in it, he will follow it with his head, trying to get at it.
  •
  • Hold the treat above your dog’s head so he looks up, then take it to just behind his nose so that he has to move his head backwards
  •
  • The only way your dog can reach the treat is to put his bottom on the floor.
  •
  • The moment he does so, press your clicker and give him the treat and lots of praise.
  •
  • Within a few attempts, your dog will know how to earn his click and treat, and his sit response will get quicker.
  •
  • When he fully understands what is expected, say "Sit" as he sits, so he learns to associate the word with the action.
  •
  • Now you have added the cue, with practice you will be able to ask him to sit rather than lure him into position with the treat.

I hope that works well for you,I know I said that animal posts would be about the endangered list but thats next time, so next animal post will be about that list of endangered animals.

Fun, Viennese biscuits recipe.

This is the second fun post, not all of them will be recipes some of them will be craft, but this is a pretty cool recipe for some pretty cool biscuits.

Ingredients.

Makes 24 biscuits. (12 pairs)

For the biscuits:

175g unsalted butter, softened.
40g icing sugar.
1 teaspoon vanilla essence.
175g plain flour.
40g cornflour.

For the ganache:

75g plain chocolate drops.
4 tablespoons double cream.

Recipe.

1. Heat the oven to 190C. Grese and line two baking trays. Put the butter in a bowl. Sift the icing sugar over it. Beat the mixture until it's creamy.

2. Stir the vanilla essence. Sift the flour and the cornflower over the mixture. Stir them until they are smooth. Put a teasoon of the mixture onto one of the tarys.

3. Put more teaspoons of mixtue onto the trays, leaving spaces between them. Flatten each blob of mixture slightly with the back of a teaspoon.

4. Bake the biscuits for 12-14 minutes until they are plae golden brown. Leave them on their trays for five minutes, then use a spatula to lift them onto a wire rack.

5. For the ganache, put the chocolate drops in a heatproof bowl and add the cream. Then, pour about 5cm water into a saucepan.

6. Heat the water until it bubbles, then take the pan off the heat. Carefully, put the bowl inside the pan. Stir the chocolate and the cream until the chocolate has melted.

7. Lift the bowl out of the pan and let the ganache cool for a few minutes. Then, put it in the fridge for about an hour, stirring it every now and then, as it thickens.

8. WHen the ganache is soft like butter, take it out of the fridge. Use a blunt knife to spread some onto the flat side of the biscuit. Press another biscuit on top.

9. Sandwich the biscuits together in pairs until all the ganache and biscuits are used up. Store in a airtight container in the fridge.

From ankle boots to longer styles, boots keep your feet nice and toasty and keep your overall look cool.

Scarfs.

Scarfs come in all differnt colours and styles, so you'll always find you to match your style. One of the simplest accessorys for winter, but still pretty sweet.

Animals, 6 unusal facts about guinea pigs.

1. Guinea pigs produce a white milky looking fluid at the corner of their eyes. It is used to help them groom and is completely normal. Typically the fluid goes unnoticed; they groom themselves very quickly! Pigs use their front feet to wipe the fluid from their eyes around their faces and over their heads when they bathe.

3. Guinea pigs have what are known as “open rooted” teeth, which means the teeth grow constantly throughout their lives. Pigs need unlimited access to foods, especially grass hays, to help grind down their teeth in order to keep them to the proper length and alignment. - See more at: http://www.guineapigtoday.com/2011/09/14/10-things-you-might-not-know-about-guinea-pigs/#sthash.z0zOaWSz.dpuf
2. Although guinea pigs don’t have great vision overall, they are not color blind.

4. Male guinea pigs can (and do) live together very happily. In the past it was a widely held belief that male pigs would inevitably fight if housed together, however piggy relationships are determined as much by personality as by gender.  Not any pair of males is compatible of course that that is true of any pair of guinea pigs.

5. Male pigs (and females in some circumstances) will “rumblestrut” as a sign of courtship and/or dominance toward another pig. A rumblestrutting pig will typically have raised or puffy hair, be making a “brrrrrr” vibrating sound and swaying their hips back and forth.

6. Baby guinea pigs are born precocial, meaning they have all their hair, their eyes are open and functioning and their teeth are fully developed. Within a few hours they can run and within a day they can eat solid food although they do need to nurse from their mother for a while.
